Engineering Manager - Banking Platform (m/f/x)

Shape the future of Scalable’s new fully vertically integrated investment and brand new banking platform. Scalable’s Broker, digital Wealth Management and Credit offerings are seamlessly integrated into a newly developed technology platform.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Engineering Manager (EM) to lead one of our Engineering teams. As the EM, you will play a crucial role in developing our platform, working alongside product managers and academics implementing change in the financial industry.

• Build our new fully vertically integrated investment platform to serve our customers using cutting edge technology and modern software development practices
• Empower and manage a team of engineers, helping them shape their individual careers and grow the team to become self-organized, agile and autonomous
• Provide technical expertise and share best practices with your team
• Build & integrate new features by working with our Product and Design Teams
• Organize, prioritize and achieve business goals with your team and Product
• Be part of the recruitment process to attract your potential new colleagues or team members

• A university degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. computer science, engineering, sciences, ...) or a comparable qualification
• Previous experience as a backend developer (Java, Kotlin), preferably for cloud infrastructures / event-based asynchronous architectures
• Profound understanding of software development process, loosely-coupled distributed architectures and RESTful API Design
• Passion for other people’s development and technical excellence
• Extreme sense of ownership
• Strong analytical thinking, both in the technical and in the product domain
• Excellent communication skills that are clear, concise, and targeted towards your audience - engineering, product, or other stakeholders
• Leadership experience is a plus
• Background in financial services is a strong plus
