Software Engineer

Seeking a Software Engineer to join the Workflow Data Fabric, Integration Hub team in Hyderabad. This role requires strong backend fundamentals, and the ability to ramp quickly on the ServiceNow platform.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong Java or JavaScript/Node.js, engineering fundamentals
• REST/SOAP API design, consumption and integration against third-party systems
• OAuth 2.0, JWT, mutual TLS and API key authentication flows
• ServiceNow platform scripting (Glide APIs, Script Includes, Business Rules, Scripted REST APIs)
• Flow Designer spokes, actions and custom step development
• Automated testing (unit + integration) and CI/CD pipeline experience
• Solid understanding of data modeling and query optimization

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver features end to end on your area: design, build, test, document, ship
• Design integration and protocol interfaces that customers can extend and customize for their own systems without forking the product
• Hold backward compatibility; customer implementations and third-party systems depend on these contracts, so changes are made deliberately and versioned
• Build for failure: handle rate limits, timeouts, partial responses and unavailable remote systems so the failure mode is clear rather than silent
• Investigate customer-reported integration failures across the platform, the network and the remote system, and fix them at root cause instead of patching the symptom
• Write the tests and the documentation for what you build, so a feature ships complete rather than code-complete

 

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful backend ownership
• Strong Java or JavaScript/Node.js and sound engineering fundamentals
• Hands-on REST and SOAP API work: designing, consuming and debugging integrations against third-party systems you don't control
• Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, mutual TLS and API key authentication flows
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis across system boundaries
• Data modeling, SQL and query optimization
• Automated testing, unit and integration, as part of your own delivery
• Agile, sprint-based development experience
• Clear written communication

Good to Have (top priority when comparing candidates)

• Protocol-level work: JSON-RPC, WebSockets, streaming or long-lived connections
• Model Context Protocol (MCP), tool or function calling, agent-facing API design
• JDBC/ODBC drivers, database connectivity.
• React or a comparable frontend framework.
